Are You Clever Enough?

Well, yet another smart alec ad that gives me no reason why I should spend an evening or my hard earned money at Yin Yang Restaurant. In fact, I think this one is so clever that you could have a guess the idea contest to go along with the ad...dyam!! I wonder if you understand this one...

i got it
if you try to read the ad you make the eyes (the face) like the chinese, then you "look like a regular customer"

Hello, I am from Argentina and do not get the idea, can you explain it to me?
Thanks!!!

A person would squint his eyes to see the letters, looking like an oriental.

Ultimately, everything has to sell and the more bizarre it is, the more attention it attracts but that has to be backed by substance.

To read the copy you have to squeeze your eyes, making you look like one from the mongolian race, in other words, a chinky, a typical chinese restaurant customer. I think I won the contest!

Pretty cool ad actually. Took a while for the yuan to drop on this one though! The type face forces you to squint to read the words, and in so doing, you begin to look Chinese.(Hence the line: Now you look like a regular customer.)

i think this is a rather brilliant ad. it may not communicate why you should go to the restaurant, but it certainly enhances brand recall.

great art!

Brilliant...LOL!
Oriental eyes....well sorta. Not sure squinting at the ad makes anyone looks oriental/asian though.
