A really nice press ad to address the issue of growing population. Unfortunately, the agency bhind the ad is unknown. Anybody knows where and who did this really cool ad. VIA: ads of the world

Flying Dinosaurs!

Interesting campaign for the Museum of Ontario in Canada. The theme of this print campaign was the origin of flight and if dinosaurs could really fly! I found it making me curious...

Andy's - Student Winner Three

Another winner from the Andy's '06. This idea for Matchbox, a toy car manufacturer (just like hot-wheels in India) was developed by students from the Miami Ad School in Europe.

Andy's - Student Winner Two

I dont know the Art/Design School that did this Guerilla Idea for Benjamin Moore Paints. The idea won a Bronze at the Andy Awards. Does anybody know the student or school involved here?

Andy's - Student Winner One

One more Silver Winner from the Andy's. This one is a student entry from the Creative Circus. Glenn C Smith created this Guerilla Campaign for Slowdown Atlanta. A project that tried to tell residents to reduce their speed limits while driving.

Leo Burnett at the Andy's

Leo Burnett, Bangalore won a Bronze for this Press Ad on the Bhopal Gas Tragedy at the recent Andy Awards.

Adidas Gigaride!

This print campaign for Adidas was intended to compliment a series of television commercials for the Gigaride technology that promises "Unstoppable Cushioning." This campaign was developed by Nonbox. The team included with Creative Director, Steve Flood, Illustrator, Marc Gabbana and Designer, Matt Davis.
The agency had to work from an existing creative concept showcased in a series of 30-second television commericials. The commercials had the benefit of time to tell their story whereas the nonbox design team was limited to expressing the same message in one frame--be it a poster, window banner or POS insert.

Snip Snip!

2 Press Ads for Salon Premium, a hip, independent hair salon. The ads were meant to reflect the Salon's irreverant culture and bring in new customers looking for a dramatic change. open sesame!

I don't know the agency behind this idea to promote the screening of "Moses" but I like the idea of promoting the movie with a part of the movie itself. Nice work. VIA:ihaveanidea

Shhhhhhhhhh.............

Here's one more from Viking! This press ad is for their Electric Mower that makes 15 decibels lesser sound. Thanks to Patrick Lucet from Publicis Conseil in France for sending this one in.

Blood at the Bus Shelter

Looks like Bus Shelters are the next big medium of use for creatives worldwide. Here's another one from Singapore. This one is for the Singapore Blood Bank and the agency behind the idea is Bates, Singapore. Stunning work and use of medium.

Lungs in Ash!

Amazing Idea for a Guerilla Bus Shelter done for the Cancer Society of Finland by an agency called Bob in Helsinki. The idea also won metal at the Eurobest Awards. VIA

Ontario Blue Cross

A print campaign for the Ontario Blue Cross by an agency named Marketel in Canada. I think, they are pretty lame. I wonder if you agree?

Dowry - a DIRTY word!

Ouch! These really know how to grab you by your collar! A series of posters for a public service client called "The Sisterhood Collective" done by an agency called Brand Curry in Delhi, India. I really think these grab attention but its like attention without any effect. A nude woman on any piece of communcation would do the same! Does anybody have any other opinions on this one? VIA: ads of the world

The French Viking

Thanks to Julien Didier for sending in these ads done by Publicis Conseil in France. They are for a brand of Lawn Mowers called Viking. The Art Director is Jean marc tramoni and the Copywriter is Marc Rosier. To be honest, I dont really get the one with the dog!

Manifesto Invite!

An interesting invite for Manifesto, a progressive Calgary Hair Salon. I like the attitude but felt it should have been something more relevant when one was launching a hair salon. But this one somehow looks like a woman with the towel around her head after a bath, is that what it is??

A Publicis Christmas Card

Thanks to Chong Wei Lung, a young art-director from Publicis Singapore for sending in this Christmas Card done by him. Nice art combined with a cool idea. This card definetely grabs attention!

Quitplan Ciggarette Stub

Interesting idea for a website that helps you quit smoking. I think this one is pretty innovative even though its is similar to the McDonalds Hoarding with a straw for Thick Shakes.

Made by Cowboys!

One more campaign for denim. This one is for Wrangler and was done by Creative Juice G1 in Bangkok. VIA

Indigestion??

Thanks to Daniel Del Toro from the Pratt Institute in New York for sending in this spec campaign for Pepto's Bismol from his portfolio. I somehow believe that there is an idea in these ads but they need to be pushed futher to be great ads. Keep going pal! ;)

A simple idea and some nice art combined to make this ad for Starbucks by Grey Worldwide, Canada. The copy reads "Your favorite Starbucks beverage is now being served in indigo bookstores"

Pepsi - Japanese Flavour!

This ad was done by BBDO, Toronto but the copy I think is either in Japanese or Chinese (not sure). I really don't know what the hook is or what the ad is saying? Anybody from South East Asia has clarity on this one??

The End!

This one is so funny it had me rotfl. So simple and yet so cool. I love the art-direction and the idea itself. Really rocking work from DDB Canada in Vancouver. Superb show guys!
Credits: Creative Director: Alan Russell >> Art Director: Lara Palmer >> Copywriter: Paul Little >> Producer: Ninette Aves, Wendy Moriarty >> Account Planner: Stefan Hawes, Marina Govic

Here's an interesting campaign to keep the streets of Toronto clean.
Copy: You may not be able to leaptall buildings, but in 20 minutes you can help rid our streets of litter. Join Mayor David Miller april 21 at 2 p.m. to clean up our community. Pick up your litter bag and glove at participating pizza pizza or Tim Hortons locations. VIA

Eye Donation from Mumbai

Thanks to Prasad from Think Why Not - An agency from Mumbai, India for sending in this rather bizzare ad for eye-donation. I found it quite weird, may be some of you find it interesting! Out or In?? Credits: Art Director: Mahesh Karande >> Copy:Aunindo Sen >>

Is this what we call advertising??

Should advertising be interesting or should it be a puzzle that almost ninety percent of people do not understand or are not even intrested in understanding?? In a day and age where advertising is considered an obstrusive medium, shouldn't ads be so intresting instead of so confusing?
Look at this campaign from Ogilvy for Genteel, a liquid washing detergent for housewives. The idea here is so twisted that I don't really know how many people will get it. If you are from another country, I suggest you don't even try!
All those from here (India), do you get it? Is it that I am assuming that the consumer is too dumb. I showed it to my mum, who had no clue what it was. Even if you guys get it, do you think the average Indian Housewife will? Isn't this ad meant for her!! I only wish copywriters and agencies put themselves in the shoes of the consumer for a minute longer, it would probably help.

Comfort by Flogart

For some reason, i find this ad very cute! It is appealing, intresting and gives me the message in a very convincing way. It's for a brand of shoes called Flogart where the promise is comfort! Any agency who the agency behind this one is??

Night Talk from Hutch

Ogilvy & Mather, Delhi adds to the amount of good advertising that Ogilvy Bangalore & Mumbai have already done with this ad for Hutch Night Talk. (Do enlarge the ad to its maximum size to even understand the idea).

Clearly Good Advertising!

Lowe India is the advertising agency behind this really nice creative for Saint Gobain (A company that manufactures "Clear Glass"). Now here's an agency that does some really good work on its Television Campaigns and matches them with equally good Print Work. Lovely Ad!

Anti-Smoking Fashion Adverts!

Another campaign for the Health Council of Singapore done by FCB. I really like the fact that somebody has gone ahead and tried something new with the whole public service scenario. Does it work, is it going to stop me from smoking or even think twice about it, I dont really know. Does it work for any of you??

Smokers of Singapore!

Foot Cone and Belding , Singapore did this really neat execution on the streets for the Health Promotion Board of Singapore. Passers-by were given strips of tobacco stench in the form of a new perfume with a message behind that read
"This is how you smell when you smoke. 4000 toxic chemicals leave a stench no perfume can mask. Just ask the people around you. Please stop smoking. You'll smell better instantly. Call 1800 438 2000"
Now that is something that is going to make even the most keen smoker think twice! This is really nice work.

Opening Today...

An agency named Bydesign designed this press ad for the opening of Arena, a jewellery store in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. VIA

The Blush Bag

The bags are back! This one is from Blush, the German Lingerie Maker. Is this a global trend now? I have seen almost 6 such bags from various stores and companies. May be someone needs to invent a new medium or else every bag will begin to look the same! VIA: Ad Goodness!

Folgers Man Holes!

Folgers, a chain of coffee shops in New York used steaming man hole covers to promote their shop. Holes that were cut out of the vinyl let steam rise through them. The headline around the coffee cup reads “Hey, City That Never Sleeps. Wake up.” Cool stuff that would definetely catch attention! VIA

Mudra DDB - D&AD Annual '06

Here is the Guerilla Idea done by Mudra DDB that was featured in the D&AD Annual 2006. Thanks to Anantha for sending it in. It is kind of similar to another piece featured here but I guess parallel thinking is a possibility that still exists on our planet. Great work guys!

India at the D&AD Festival 2006!

Directors & Art-Directors Annual - A showcase of work considered by most creative people as the biggest recognition in the advertising industry will see 8 Indian entries this year. However, only one of them - an entry from Rediffusion DY&R for Midland Bookshop, has made it to the final list of nominees this year for the D&AD awards.
The 8 pieces that have made it include 3 from JWT, Bangalore all for Levi Strauss, India! All the 3 entries are a part of the much famed ‘Slim Figure Poster Campaign'.
O&M has 2 entries in the Art Direction / Poster Advertising and Typography / Graphic Design categories.
1 pointsize has 1 entry in the form of photography by Sharad Haksar in the Wildlife / Paparazzi / Fashion category and Mudra DDB has 1 entry for the Cancer Patients Aid Association titled ‘Cigarette Lighter’ in the Ambient / Guerrilla category.
Rediffusion DY&R, however, has much to celebrate. Its work for Midland Bookshop titled ‘Lord of the Rings / The Communist Manifesto / 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’ has got 2 accolades – it’s been selected for the D&AD Annual in the Writing For Design / Graphic Design category, and also nominated for the D&AD Awards in the Graphic Design / Direct Mail category. This is the sole nomination from India this year for the D&AD Awards.
The British D&AD is one of the most prestigious creative awards in the advertising and design industry. D&AD Global Awards received over 24,000 pieces of work this year from 61 countries and had 309 judges from around the world, including Prasoon Joshi of McCann-Erickson India, Agnello Dias of JWT Mumbai and Elsie Nanji of Ambience Publicis Advertising.

Long Copy on the Streets

A long copy billboard created by Contract Advertising, Mumbai to help people reduce traffic on the streets. Interesting work!

Public Service Via the Mailbox!

Advertising can often make the most boring products intresting in the way we sell them. For instance, Magnetic Paper that was so intrestingly sold by Chicago Agency Hadrian’s Wall for a client named Magnecote Paper. The guerilla campaign chose to use public service as a medium to showcase its products!

The World Bicycle Relief, enlisted seven other agencies to create PSAs for World Bicycle Relief. Magnecote agreed to produce the campaign, WBT agreed to run it, the campaign had to use Magnecote paper and each campaign would be voted upon by the public. VIA: Adverbox

Jeep Wrangler 2007

Here's a brand new campaign for the Wrangler. The latest new offering from the Jeep. The Agency behind the campaign was BBDO Detroit and the team included Copywriter: Ty Hutchinson, Art Director: John O’Hea, Paul Szary and Photographer: Madison Ford.
Though this is not the first campaign of its kind, but it is still intresting. I remember something like this picking up a truckload of awards about 6 or 7 years ago. Look up those old One Shows and you shall find em!

Knorr Quick Soups

Interesting Ad for Knorr Quick Soups created by JWT, Sao Paulo. VIA

Chicken You Can Trust!

A weird campaign that won an Epica in the year 2004. It's a campaign for a brand of chicken named "Le Barran". I don't know much about the Subservient Chicken Campaign but I wonder if this one is any similar to it.
This one comes with the headline "The chicken you can trust!". It somehow would never work in a country like mine because its way to bizzare. I would love to know if you think this works elsewhere?? And any idea which agency did this work?

The Hulk Has Milk!

Well, the man in green is back for round 2. After PS 2, it's for the "got milk" campaign. This one is cute but I somehow can't digest a creature like the Hulk and Milk as a brand combination! Kinda forced and mismatched. And I think the PS 2 creative works better too...

Axe- Effect for WWF!

Another creative innovation for the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). The agency behind this one is DDB & Company. The headline reads "Not recycling this newspaper is the same as cutting down another tree". The team behind the idea are Karpat Polat and Ali Bati.

Advertising Headache!

Panadol is a tablet for headaches. This is a bag that has been used as an advertising (or communication) medium. Interesting and definetely eye-catching! You can scroll down to see an ad done for Panadol by Neil French!
Do you think advertising on mediums like Guerilla and Unconventional places is far effective than regular traditional mediums like print, outdoor, radio and televison?? Or are these just gimmicks to win awards? Speak!

The Hulk - Now on PS 2

An ad for "The Hulk" now available as a game on the Playstation 2. I like the way this ad has been art directed. Pretty cool and quite intresting.

Advertising Pain!

The communication industry is such a cool sphere of work to be associated with. When I get to see something like this, it almost tells me that the number of avenues to talk to my T.A. is so amazingly vast.
The idea was conceived by an agency called Idiots!! True. Well, it may put-off a few people, agreed. But it sure does work like magic in the way it associates itself with the medium. Great work! VIA

Cut little!

More interesting Guerilla Work, this time from a land called Brazil and it's for the WWF. The agency behind the idea is Full Jazz Communications. The headline on the tissue paper reads "Paper is made of trees. Cut little" VIA

Pirated Authors!

Thanks to Srinivas Murthy, a copywriter from Mudra, Mumbai for sending in this campaign for a book store named "The Oxford Bookstore" in Mumbai, India. The campaign was aimed at minimising piracy. Flat by Grundig!

A campaign for Grundig Flat Televisions by Grabarz & Partners, Hamburg. Pretty meaningless to me. Now working!

AIDS in Style!

A campaign done for the Aids Foundation of Chicago. I don't entirely understand the relevance of the headline and the visual! "When will it go out of style?"...as in is there someone who really thinks that AIDS is a matter or style? Or is there a larger picture I fail to see. Can anybody help?

Wonderbra - Spec Work!

A spec-ad for Wonderbra done by Think Why Not, an agency from Mumbai, India. I wonder when wonderbra will actually make an entry into the Indian markets, the agency is sure to have a ball, or two :) working on the account!

International Peace Day - TBWA

TBWA Cochin from Kerala, India did this ad that was released in a news-daily called Malayalam Manorama on the occassion of International Day of Peace on September 21st last year. Simple, funny and relatable across the world. Nice work!

Sleep Tight - Naber Kaffee!

A new ad for Naber Kafee by Tolga Büyükdoganay, an Art Director from FCB Austria. Scroll below to see more work done by him. I somehow feel that the previous ads for Naber were much stronger than this one. What are your reactions??

Hook, Line & Sinker!

Thanks to Brandon from BlattnerBrunner for sending in these posters done for a Lazer Sharp, a company that manufactures Fishing Hooks. According to Brandon, the main advantage of these fishing hooks is that they are so sharp, that they significantly reduce snagging and increase the odds of setting a hook when a fish bites.

The three individual posters were actually die cut before placement in a pattern that mimics its travel through the water. The poster is replaced once a week for a month with the idea that fisherman typically come into a specific store often enough to see the effect.

Run Mumbai Run!

Thanks to Trilokjit Sengupta, a Copywriter from TBWA, Mumbai for sending in this campaign done for the Standard Chartered BPL Mumbai Marathon in December 2005. Ant-hology!

Weird ad but very different ad this one. Its shows a dead ant...with the sign off "Diabetes Kills" I get the fact that Ants love sugar and eating lots of it killed it! Does it make me eat any less sugar, I really dunno bout that!

Money in my Home

This Ad by OgilvyOne in Mumbai, India was done to help the victims affetcted by the Tsunami. the headline in Hindi means "Lakhs of Homeless People affected by the Tsunami need your help". Nice work! Team: Vipul Salvi, Pramod Sharma.

Small Idea, Big Impact...

Absolutely amazing work from JWT, India. This one is really stunning. Simple, clear and bang-on!

Father India!

Here's an extremely intresting ad against Female Foeticide done by Index Advertising. Nice Idea!

Extreme Coincidence!

I was running through some old ads and I spotted this press campaign done for a health club named Extreme some where in South East Asia. It reminded me of the Ogilvy, Mumbai campaign posted a few days back. Do any of you see the same??
By the way, for those interested in more...this campaign also won something at the Asia Pacific Ad Festival in 2005.

Baby in the Bin!

How many movies have we seen where new borns are dumped into bins and left to find a way for themselves. Well, looks like its reality time!
To combat the problem that was rapidly increasing in Bankok, Ogilvy One installed these false garbage cans in regions next to the university of Bangkok, equipped with a device with a movement sensor. Each time a person passed by the cans, they emitted the sound of a child crying.

When opening the cover, the viewer found a message inviting them to know more about a contraceptive pill in the site of the Schering. The campaign caused controversy, spontaneous media coverage and lots of attention. VIA

Sania Clear Hain!!

Well, here she is! Sania Mirza - India's Pin-Up Girl at her photographic best for Sprite. I know that this isn't a really creative campaign and stuff but i'm sure the desi-boys in India will love these for sure! Lyomer in the Loo!

I simply wonder if agencies do anything more than Guerilla Work anymore. There's so much of it all aover the world. This one is from Portugal and the agency is Bates, Red Cell. It is for a Nasal Spray called Lyomer. Great idea and very effective in the way it works. VIA

Hair Care from BBDO S'pore!

I've always loved campaigns where inanimate objects seem to come to life. This one from BBDO, Singapore for a hair growth lotion called Regaine seems to be one of those. I love the idea and the art direction that supports it so well. Great work yet again from Singapore!

<< America Online is now AOL >>

Looks like it is the season for re-branding and new logo's. I recently spotted 4 companies: TLC (The Learning Channel), Spike TV, Quark Express and Vodafone change their logo's. And last night, I discovered that there are more in the fray...
America Online has just decided to go in for a new logo too! According to reports from the company, America Online will now be known as AOL and has just revamped its logo too. I don't know if there are any more companies that have new logo's. Does anybody know more of these that can be shared here?

Socks for your Breasts!! ;)

I guess photography plays such an important role in the power of many ideas. Look at this ad for a brand of stockings called COMO2. These are stockings with silicon that helps them from sagging.
I love the way the ad works on the human mind and the way trick photography misleads your brain! Stunning stuff. No wonder it won a London International Advertising Award in 2003. Does anybody know the agency that did this ad?

Tomatoes in a Bottle!

Winner of an Epica Award in 2004, I guess this campaign works pretty well even today! Nice and simple art too.

ZoooooooooooooooooooooooM

A new ad by JWT, Thailand for the Digital Zoom Feature in the Nikon Coolpix Camera. Do you like the idea? I personally think its kinda OK! It also reminds me of an ad for Toyo Plastic Buckets posted below on this blog...I can't seem to accept war & violence in advertising. May be it's just a mindset for me...

Tunnel in your Nose!

Guerilla Work done for a Nasal Inhaler called Sorine! Yet another nice usage of medium and message effectively.

A series of hoardings for a health club named Fitness One in Chennai, India. A media innovation that uses the medium to deliver the message effectively! Like it?

Slovenia in Trouble!

Slovenia must be an extremely difficult place for women. Atleast that's the message from this public service poster developed by "THE SIGN". The headline reads: "Every fifth beaten, every seventh raped." Simple yet intresting...

The Axe Printers

Well, Yet another clever creative from Ogilvy, Mumbai! The headline here reads "You don't need an axe to chop trees". How many of us will really get this ad, I really don't know. Some ads are made for just Award Juries, ain't they?

Stuff It Small!

Some really simple work with an amazing idea attached to it from Saatchi & Saatchi, New York for Stuff It. A software that compresses files into smaller sizes and lets you expand them later. Really nice work, I wonder how many small objects that have gone into making these ads...a magnifying glass would sure be of help!

It's the paper, dumbo!

Thanks to Jason Haynes from O’Keefe Murphy Gaff for sending in this campaign for Reflex Pure White Office Paper. It is the leading office paper brand in Australia. I like the spin on paper jams and it's a great insight too! Most of us end up balming the poor printer so often, well this one works to shatter that myth!
