Cannes Young Creatives '06
The four ads above are from Argentina (Bronze), Poland (Gold), New Zealand (Silver) and Finland (Bronze) respectively. They are all winners of the Cannes Young Creatives Contest. The brief this year was to create a print advertisement to motivate the public to support the ICRC or the National Red Cross and Red Crescent Society either through donations or volunteer service.
I personally like the ad from Argentina that won a Bronze. I think most will prefer another one! Overall I feel that this years 'Young Gun' Winners are a drop from the regular high standards from the years before.
Sharp Clothing from Texwood!
Merit Award: P.O.P. and In-Store - Campaign >> Art Director: Shannon Tham, Gary Tranter >> Copywriter: Matt Cullen >> Creative Director: Gary Tranter, Matt Cullen >> Illustrator: Terry Batty (Centro) >> Photographer: Wing Shya >> Client: Texwood Ltd >> Agency: Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific / David , Hong Kong / Hong Kong
IWC Big Watch
Now, that's an absolute beauty of an idea done by Copywriter, Susanne Härtwig and Art Director, Simon Hiebl from Jung von Matt/Alster. Pictures of the Big Pilot's Watch are attached to the straps in buses enabling commuters to easily try it on the way to the airplane. Simply brilliant!

The Condom Store!
2 really bold posters for the condom store that tell you what to do if it is the end of the world. The second poster reminds me of another poster done earlier with instructions in case of a flight emergency...can't recollect which brand though! If anybody knows the agency that did these, leave a comment!

A few single winners from Cannes '06!
Cannes Print Grand Prix '06
This was the ad that won the Print Grand Prix at Cannes '06. Another let down! I don't even know how many of us will see the Submarine there...did you? All said and done, I don't think this deserved the Grand Prix, there were so many others ads that were brilliant!
IAPA by Ogilvy & Mather
This campaign for the IAPA (Indian Association for Promotion of Adoption and Child Welfare) by Ogilvy & Mather, Mumbai is definetely its most celebrated campaign in recent times. After wining at the One Show, the campaign has also won a Silver Lion in the Press: Public Awareness Messages category at the Cannes Advertising Fest recently.
The campaign features little children printed on an acetate sheet and the pages next to them show 2 drastic ends of where the kids could be. Like on a bed at home or on the streets, studying or working on the street or working on a construction site or playing with play blocks at home, etc.
