They are pins. With them, the DHL show that delivers your package in all the places on the earth.
We use pins to mark location of interest/presence in a map.
Here DHL tries to say that they are present everywhere or they cover everwhere.
I think it's like when you have a map and put a pin in every place you have been. I think that's the idea behind this ad...
It could be every places that DHL go; the inchs indicate it. Sorry my English.
They are trying to say that putting a pin in every place DHL delivers creates a world map. That's how enormous their coverage is
