MAGGI - The Golden Drum 2006!

The Golden Drum Awards were announced recently and here's a campaign for Maggi that's sure to raise a few eye-brows! Now come to think of it, here's a product that claims that women would be better off if they spent lesser time cooking and Maggi helps them do just that. I like the premise of the produc helping in preparing a meal quickly, but I don't like the approach at all.
I feel the only reason why women have not been as glorified as men is only because there are far too many MCP's out there who just won't give them their due! Well, it would be interesting to see if the women reading this post like this campaign or if it does offend them!

Drugs V/S Trainers!

A really well executed campaign for CitySport that encourages sportsmen not to do drugs. What I like most is the whole magentism of the visuals. They just grab you and it's extremely hard to not notice a campaign like this. Absolutely rivetting work here. The claim is “Don’t do drugs, do trainers.”

Torch the Shadows - Osram!

Two different campaigns that use shadows and that too on the same day!! Interesting. This campaign is to promote what Osram describes as the most powerful torch on the planet. But if there's still a torch campaign that's stuck in my head, it's got to be this one for INOVA that won a Cannes Bronze Lion this year!
Product: Power Dragon Torch (flashlight) >> Title: Shadow Puppets >> Agency: Springer & Jacoby Hamburg >> Country: Germany >> Creatives: (Creative Director) Timm & Bettina (Creative Director) Tobi & Knobi (Creative Director) Myles Lord (Creative) Andreas Balog (Creative)

The Suicides!

I found this really funny campaign for an insecticide on seaspace. The idea is basically that the product is so darn good that the insects have no other option but suicide! The quality of the images is rather small....if you know the product, leave a comment. Interesting ads here though I very vaguely get the feeling I have seen this idea before.

Need a POST-IT??

Audi - Designed to Thrill!!

Campbell's Soup!

I like the treatment for these ads for Campbell's Soup by BBDO, Toronto. Shadows are always fun and anything clever with them always grabs attention. via

Mondadori Books @ 30% off!

A really cool campaign for Mondadori Books by Saatchi&Saatchi, Italy. The campaign won a gold prize at the ADCI Awards in newspaper advertising category. Great idea!

Havaianas by Marcello Serpa!

Headline: Trust the opinion of who has twice as many feet as you.

Headline: Don't even try to throw your sandal and ask him to fetch.

Outside The Box by LDV!

This campaign was created by LDV United in Antwerp, Belgium. This campaign was created to stimulate more diverse voting during the elections. The problem in Belgium was that most people tend to vote for the typical, average, white male (of 40-50 years old), while the place has a multi-cultural society.
The aim here was to make people aware of the fact that diverse voting leads to a diverse council. These ads are definetely attention grabbing and I hope they were effective too!

That's a Blind Corner!

Thanks to Woei Hern from Dentsu, Malaysia for sending in this Ambient Poster to inform students about the dangers of speeding. I do not have the credits but if any of you do, leave a comment!

It's Diwali!

It's Diwali across the Planet and almost every page of every newspaper is trying to promote the festival season with an offer of some kind (cash discounts, freebies, trips abroad, lucky gifts, scratch cards, etc.) How does one stand out from this clutter without losing out on the spirit of the season.
Saints and Warriors, Mumbai recently created this campaign for Piramyd, a retail store where you shop for almost everything your home needs. I like the style of using the packs of traditional Diwali crackers as the core theme for this campaign though it is a style that's been tried before.
Co-incidentally HBO has tried something similar for their Diwali Blockbusters but I feel this campaign is more relatable for it's promo value!

Canon on the street!

A really cool new guerilla innovation to promote the Canon S1 range of cameras. These days there's so much guerilla across the streets in every country the world over. I really don't see so much of it in India though! :( via

Strip & Jump!

A really cool and funny idea for a Waxing Studio named Strip. The monkey in this ad brings along so much of the attitude to it. Good one from Batey Ads, Singapore!
Title: Lake Client: Strip Waxing Studio >> Country: Singapore >> Agency: Batey >> Creative Director: Pablo Monzon >> Art Director: Mark Bamfield >> Copywriter: Ross Fowler >> via

Light of Life Foundation!

A wee bit bizzare in its imagery, this campaign for Light of Life Foundation is an attempt to educate, inform and share the effects of Thyroid Cancer. To know more about Thyroid Cancer, visit www.checkyourneck.com

Nestea Plunge!

These ads for Nestea (a brand of iced-tea from the coca-cola company) have a really cool attitude and I'm sure it's an attitude that is going to rub off on the product too! Lovely headlines and some decent art...all in all, a really nice campaign.

A Marcello Serpa Interview!!

Elias Kouloures and his team of friends just interviewed Marcello Serpa from Almap BBDO! The legendary advertising genius from Brasil during his last visit to Germany. Log on to beers and ideas and listen to him as he rants about the industry, his time as a beginner and what underwear he prefers!!
There are 2 parts to the interview and I am sure most of you will enjoy this one as much as I did. Thanks for this one Elias! And for those of you who want more about Serpa, I found this amazing site where there is a lot more about the man himself!
