Night Talk from Hutch

Ogilvy & Mather, Delhi adds to the amount of good advertising that Ogilvy Bangalore & Mumbai have already done with this ad for Hutch Night Talk. (Do enlarge the ad to its maximum size to even understand the idea).

Clearly Good Advertising!

Lowe India is the advertising agency behind this really nice creative for Saint Gobain (A company that manufactures "Clear Glass"). Now here's an agency that does some really good work on its Television Campaigns and matches them with equally good Print Work. Lovely Ad!

Anti-Smoking Fashion Adverts!

Another campaign for the Health Council of Singapore done by FCB. I really like the fact that somebody has gone ahead and tried something new with the whole public service scenario. Does it work, is it going to stop me from smoking or even think twice about it, I dont really know. Does it work for any of you??

Smokers of Singapore!

Foot Cone and Belding , Singapore did this really neat execution on the streets for the Health Promotion Board of Singapore. Passers-by were given strips of tobacco stench in the form of a new perfume with a message behind that read
"This is how you smell when you smoke. 4000 toxic chemicals leave a stench no perfume can mask. Just ask the people around you. Please stop smoking. You'll smell better instantly. Call 1800 438 2000"
Now that is something that is going to make even the most keen smoker think twice! This is really nice work.

Opening Today...

An agency named Bydesign designed this press ad for the opening of Arena, a jewellery store in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. VIA

The Blush Bag

The bags are back! This one is from Blush, the German Lingerie Maker. Is this a global trend now? I have seen almost 6 such bags from various stores and companies. May be someone needs to invent a new medium or else every bag will begin to look the same! VIA: Ad Goodness!

Folgers Man Holes!

Folgers, a chain of coffee shops in New York used steaming man hole covers to promote their shop. Holes that were cut out of the vinyl let steam rise through them. The headline around the coffee cup reads “Hey, City That Never Sleeps. Wake up.” Cool stuff that would definetely catch attention! VIA

Mudra DDB - D&AD Annual '06

Here is the Guerilla Idea done by Mudra DDB that was featured in the D&AD Annual 2006. Thanks to Anantha for sending it in. It is kind of similar to another piece featured here but I guess parallel thinking is a possibility that still exists on our planet. Great work guys!

India at the D&AD Festival 2006!

Directors & Art-Directors Annual - A showcase of work considered by most creative people as the biggest recognition in the advertising industry will see 8 Indian entries this year. However, only one of them - an entry from Rediffusion DY&R for Midland Bookshop, has made it to the final list of nominees this year for the D&AD awards.
The 8 pieces that have made it include 3 from JWT, Bangalore all for Levi Strauss, India! All the 3 entries are a part of the much famed ‘Slim Figure Poster Campaign'.
O&M has 2 entries in the Art Direction / Poster Advertising and Typography / Graphic Design categories.
1 pointsize has 1 entry in the form of photography by Sharad Haksar in the Wildlife / Paparazzi / Fashion category and Mudra DDB has 1 entry for the Cancer Patients Aid Association titled ‘Cigarette Lighter’ in the Ambient / Guerrilla category.
Rediffusion DY&R, however, has much to celebrate. Its work for Midland Bookshop titled ‘Lord of the Rings / The Communist Manifesto / 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’ has got 2 accolades – it’s been selected for the D&AD Annual in the Writing For Design / Graphic Design category, and also nominated for the D&AD Awards in the Graphic Design / Direct Mail category. This is the sole nomination from India this year for the D&AD Awards.
The British D&AD is one of the most prestigious creative awards in the advertising and design industry. D&AD Global Awards received over 24,000 pieces of work this year from 61 countries and had 309 judges from around the world, including Prasoon Joshi of McCann-Erickson India, Agnello Dias of JWT Mumbai and Elsie Nanji of Ambience Publicis Advertising.

Long Copy on the Streets

A long copy billboard created by Contract Advertising, Mumbai to help people reduce traffic on the streets. Interesting work!

Public Service Via the Mailbox!

Advertising can often make the most boring products intresting in the way we sell them. For instance, Magnetic Paper that was so intrestingly sold by Chicago Agency Hadrian’s Wall for a client named Magnecote Paper. The guerilla campaign chose to use public service as a medium to showcase its products!

The World Bicycle Relief, enlisted seven other agencies to create PSAs for World Bicycle Relief. Magnecote agreed to produce the campaign, WBT agreed to run it, the campaign had to use Magnecote paper and each campaign would be voted upon by the public. VIA: Adverbox

Jeep Wrangler 2007

Here's a brand new campaign for the Wrangler. The latest new offering from the Jeep. The Agency behind the campaign was BBDO Detroit and the team included Copywriter: Ty Hutchinson, Art Director: John O’Hea, Paul Szary and Photographer: Madison Ford.
Though this is not the first campaign of its kind, but it is still intresting. I remember something like this picking up a truckload of awards about 6 or 7 years ago. Look up those old One Shows and you shall find em!

Knorr Quick Soups

Interesting Ad for Knorr Quick Soups created by JWT, Sao Paulo. VIA

Nikon Red-Eye Correction

A really scary looking print ad for the red-eye correction facility in the Nikon Coolpix done by an agency named Sylva Reklámügynökség in Budapest, Hungary. Nice idea but somehow ended up spooking me a bit!

Lake View Anyone??

The Lake View Cafe is a coffee shop at one of the High Profile Star Hotels in Mumbai (If I am not wrong!) This campaign done by Contract Advertising, Mumbai left me clueless about what it had to say. Maybe one of you can help unravel the mystery...over to you!

Chicken You Can Trust!

A weird campaign that won an Epica in the year 2004. It's a campaign for a brand of chicken named "Le Barran". I don't know much about the Subservient Chicken Campaign but I wonder if this one is any similar to it.
This one comes with the headline "The chicken you can trust!". It somehow would never work in a country like mine because its way to bizzare. I would love to know if you think this works elsewhere?? And any idea which agency did this work?

The Hulk Has Milk!

Well, the man in green is back for round 2. After PS 2, it's for the "got milk" campaign. This one is cute but I somehow can't digest a creature like the Hulk and Milk as a brand combination! Kinda forced and mismatched. And I think the PS 2 creative works better too...

Axe- Effect for WWF!

Another creative innovation for the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). The agency behind this one is DDB & Company. The headline reads "Not recycling this newspaper is the same as cutting down another tree". The team behind the idea are Karpat Polat and Ali Bati.

Advertising Headache!

Panadol is a tablet for headaches. This is a bag that has been used as an advertising (or communication) medium. Interesting and definetely eye-catching! You can scroll down to see an ad done for Panadol by Neil French!
Do you think advertising on mediums like Guerilla and Unconventional places is far effective than regular traditional mediums like print, outdoor, radio and televison?? Or are these just gimmicks to win awards? Speak!

Advertising Pain!

The communication industry is such a cool sphere of work to be associated with. When I get to see something like this, it almost tells me that the number of avenues to talk to my T.A. is so amazingly vast.
The idea was conceived by an agency called Idiots!! True. Well, it may put-off a few people, agreed. But it sure does work like magic in the way it associates itself with the medium. Great work! VIA

Cut little!

More interesting Guerilla Work, this time from a land called Brazil and it's for the WWF. The agency behind the idea is Full Jazz Communications. The headline on the tissue paper reads "Paper is made of trees. Cut little" VIA

Pirated Authors!

Thanks to Srinivas Murthy, a copywriter from Mudra, Mumbai for sending in this campaign for a book store named "The Oxford Bookstore" in Mumbai, India. The campaign was aimed at minimising piracy. The Art Director on the campaign was Sandip Gaikwad. Intresting work for a category that is often ignored.
