Ontario Blue Cross

A print campaign for the Ontario Blue Cross by an agency named Marketel in Canada. I think, they are pretty lame. I wonder if you agree?

Dowry - a DIRTY word!

Ouch! These really know how to grab you by your collar! A series of posters for a public service client called "The Sisterhood Collective" done by an agency called Brand Curry in Delhi, India. I really think these grab attention but its like attention without any effect. A nude woman on any piece of communcation would do the same! Does anybody have any other opinions on this one? VIA: ads of the world

The French Viking

Thanks to Julien Didier for sending in these ads done by Publicis Conseil in France. They are for a brand of Lawn Mowers called Viking. The Art Director is Jean marc tramoni and the Copywriter is Marc Rosier. To be honest, I dont really get the one with the dog!

Manifesto Invite!

An interesting invite for Manifesto, a progressive Calgary Hair Salon. I like the attitude but felt it should have been something more relevant when one was launching a hair salon. But this one somehow looks like a woman with the towel around her head after a bath, is that what it is??

A Publicis Christmas Card

Thanks to Chong Wei Lung, a young art-director from Publicis Singapore for sending in this Christmas Card done by him. Nice art combined with a cool idea. This card definetely grabs attention!

Quitplan Ciggarette Stub

Interesting idea for a website that helps you quit smoking. I think this one is pretty innovative even though its is similar to the McDonalds Hoarding with a straw for Thick Shakes.

Made by Cowboys!

One more campaign for denim. This one is for Wrangler and was done by Creative Juice G1 in Bangkok. VIA

SIC News Channel

A campaign for a news channel called sic by MSTF Partners. I don't understand the idea here except that little mosquito that seems to be going around. Can anybody help explaining what this means?? Or is there more to it? VIA

Just Born Denims!

A new campaign from Stockholm by an agency called Waterwigdren. Never heard of them but this campaign has a good thought though the umbilical cord seems to be an idea we've seen before.

shrt flm fstvl!

A campaign for the Canadian Film Centre's Worldwide Short Film Festival by TAXI in Canada. Some fresh thinking and a whole new way of looking at the different aspects of film making. Good stuff.

Indigestion??

Thanks to Daniel Del Toro from the Pratt Institute in New York for sending in this spec campaign for Pepto's Bismol from his portfolio. I somehow believe that there is an idea in these ads but they need to be pushed futher to be great ads. Keep going pal! ;)

Books in a Cofee Mug

A simple idea and some nice art combined to make this ad for Starbucks by Grey Worldwide, Canada. The copy reads "Your favorite Starbucks beverage is now being served in indigo bookstores"

Pepsi - Japanese Flavour!

This ad was done by BBDO, Toronto but the copy I think is either in Japanese or Chinese (not sure). I really don't know what the hook is or what the ad is saying? Anybody from South East Asia has clarity on this one??

The End!

This one is so funny it had me rotfl. So simple and yet so cool. I love the art-direction and the idea itself. Really rocking work from DDB Canada in Vancouver. Superb show guys!

Couriers in Toronto

Intresting work for a courier company named Purolator from Toronto, Canada. The campaign did pick up a few awards last year and was done by Publicis.

Toronto Super-Hero!

Here's an interesting campaign to keep the streets of Toronto clean.
Copy: You may not be able to leaptall buildings, but in 20 minutes you can help rid our streets of litter. Join Mayor David Miller april 21 at 2 p.m. to clean up our community. Pick up your litter bag and glove at participating pizza pizza or Tim Hortons locations. VIA

Eye Donation from Mumbai

Thanks to Prasad from Think Why Not - An agency from Mumbai, India for sending in this rather bizzare ad for eye-donation. I found it quite weird, may be some of you find it interesting! Out or In?? Credits: Art Director: Mahesh Karande >> Copy:Aunindo Sen >>

Is this what we call advertising??

Should advertising be interesting or should it be a puzzle that almost ninety percent of people do not understand or are not even intrested in understanding?? In a day and age where advertising is considered an obstrusive medium, shouldn't ads be so intresting instead of so confusing?
Look at this campaign from Ogilvy for Genteel, a liquid washing detergent for housewives. The idea here is so twisted that I don't really know how many people will get it. If you are from another country, I suggest you don't even try!
All those from here (India), do you get it? Is it that I am assuming that the consumer is too dumb. I showed it to my mum, who had no clue what it was. Even if you guys get it, do you think the average Indian Housewife will? Isn't this ad meant for her!! I only wish copywriters and agencies put themselves in the shoes of the consumer for a minute longer, it would probably help.

Comfort by Flogart

For some reason, i find this ad very cute! It is appealing, intresting and gives me the message in a very convincing way. It's for a brand of shoes called Flogart where the promise is comfort! Any agency who the agency behind this one is??

Night Talk from Hutch

Ogilvy & Mather, Delhi adds to the amount of good advertising that Ogilvy Bangalore & Mumbai have already done with this ad for Hutch Night Talk. (Do enlarge the ad to its maximum size to even understand the idea).

Clearly Good Advertising!

Lowe India is the advertising agency behind this really nice creative for Saint Gobain (A company that manufactures "Clear Glass"). Now here's an agency that does some really good work on its Television Campaigns and matches them with equally good Print Work. Lovely Ad!

Anti-Smoking Fashion Adverts!

Another campaign for the Health Council of Singapore done by FCB. I really like the fact that somebody has gone ahead and tried something new with the whole public service scenario. Does it work, is it going to stop me from smoking or even think twice about it, I dont really know. Does it work for any of you??

Smokers of Singapore!

Foot Cone and Belding , Singapore did this really neat execution on the streets for the Health Promotion Board of Singapore. Passers-by were given strips of tobacco stench in the form of a new perfume with a message behind that read
"This is how you smell when you smoke. 4000 toxic chemicals leave a stench no perfume can mask. Just ask the people around you. Please stop smoking. You'll smell better instantly. Call 1800 438 2000"
Now that is something that is going to make even the most keen smoker think twice! This is really nice work.

Opening Today...

An agency named Bydesign designed this press ad for the opening of Arena, a jewellery store in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. VIA

The Blush Bag

The bags are back! This one is from Blush, the German Lingerie Maker. Is this a global trend now? I have seen almost 6 such bags from various stores and companies. May be someone needs to invent a new medium or else every bag will begin to look the same! VIA: Ad Goodness!

Folgers Man Holes!

Folgers, a chain of coffee shops in New York used steaming man hole covers to promote their shop. Holes that were cut out of the vinyl let steam rise through them. The headline around the coffee cup reads “Hey, City That Never Sleeps. Wake up.” Cool stuff that would definetely catch attention! VIA

Mudra DDB - D&AD Annual '06

Here is the Guerilla Idea done by Mudra DDB that was featured in the D&AD Annual 2006. Thanks to Anantha for sending it in. It is kind of similar to another piece featured here but I guess parallel thinking is a possibility that still exists on our planet. Great work guys!

India at the D&AD Festival 2006!

Directors & Art-Directors Annual - A showcase of work considered by most creative people as the biggest recognition in the advertising industry will see 8 Indian entries this year. However, only one of them - an entry from Rediffusion DY&R for Midland Bookshop, has made it to the final list of nominees this year for the D&AD awards.
The 8 pieces that have made it include 3 from JWT, Bangalore all for Levi Strauss, India! All the 3 entries are a part of the much famed ‘Slim Figure Poster Campaign'.
O&M has 2 entries in the Art Direction / Poster Advertising and Typography / Graphic Design categories.
1 pointsize has 1 entry in the form of photography by Sharad Haksar in the Wildlife / Paparazzi / Fashion category and Mudra DDB has 1 entry for the Cancer Patients Aid Association titled ‘Cigarette Lighter’ in the Ambient / Guerrilla category.
Rediffusion DY&R, however, has much to celebrate. Its work for Midland Bookshop titled ‘Lord of the Rings / The Communist Manifesto / 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’ has got 2 accolades – it’s been selected for the D&AD Annual in the Writing For Design / Graphic Design category, and also nominated for the D&AD Awards in the Graphic Design / Direct Mail category. This is the sole nomination from India this year for the D&AD Awards.
The British D&AD is one of the most prestigious creative awards in the advertising and design industry. D&AD Global Awards received over 24,000 pieces of work this year from 61 countries and had 309 judges from around the world, including Prasoon Joshi of McCann-Erickson India, Agnello Dias of JWT Mumbai and Elsie Nanji of Ambience Publicis Advertising.
